“Mom, I need money for… books.” said the starving college student as he stared into his empty wallet.
After vending at BU for almost two semesters and lots of playing around with location and hours, (Rest in peace, Operation Manifest Destiny) we’ve decided to make getting a taste of Bon Me a little bit easier for our favorite Terriers.
Between 7 and 8pm at our Boston University East location, all main entrees will be $5 with our new BU Happy Hour program. For the same amount of money as an overpriced latte, you can get a rice bowl, noodle salad, or sandwich of your choice.
No longer a student? No worries! This promotion is open to the general public.
So drop by and bring your friends. After all, $5 footlongs were so yesterday.

Remember that really cool friend you had — you know, the one that would always have your back in dodgeball and share his Dunkaroos with you at recess? Now remember when that cool friend moved away? Cue the heartbreak, sadness, and lack of cool snacks.
Now take another trip down memory lane, and remember when a new kid would move to town. New kids in school were all the rage — everybody would whisper about them and be strangely interested in what they were doing, what they were eating, etc. (Or so Mean Girls has shown me.)
What does this analogy do except for take you on a cringe-worthy trip to when you wore braces? Enter Bon Me. Unfortunately, we’re moving away from our Copley spot next to the Boston Public Library. But Copley fans, don’t start crying yet! We’re just moving down a few blocks to new, close by locations on Clarendon and Stuart Street.
Starting April 1st, we’ll be at Stuart St. from 11:30 -2:45 on Saturdays, and 220 Clarendon St. 3-7 Saturdays, 11:30-6 Sundays. Come follow us down there to help our transition as “new kids on the block” a little easier! (I promise, I’m funnier in real life.) Need a little more persuasion? Check out the Copley coupons in our Pinterest for some insider discounts at each location: pinterest.com/bonme
Hope to see you soon! Don’t forget your coupons!

From Feburary 13-17, Bon Me will be teaming up with Viethope and the Boston University Vietnamese Student Association to help give an education to underprivileged students in Vietnam.
For every photo of our food uploaded to the Bon Me Facebook page with the caption, “Food for Hope,” we will donate $1 to Viethope, an organization that deals directly with helping students in need in Vietnam.
More about their organization and goals can be found here: http://viethope.org/
So grab your friends, your family, and your coworkers to join us for a tasty date and help make a difference! It’s in your hands – right next to that tasty rice bowl.

Luckily this year, Bon Me makes eating right so much easier. New vegetarian additions to the menu alongside with brown rice chicken bowls and edamame sides (a new permanent item!) makes eating healthy taste better than ever.
But there’s nothing like the power of teamwork when attacking these New Year’s Resolutions, and Bon Me is here to help via our social networks.
Starting on Tuesday, January 17th, our “Solution to your Resolution” photo contest will be in effect. Share your favorite healthy meals with others by posting a picture on our Facebook page, and gather some inspiration from what everyone else is chowing down on. (Or feel free to snap a picture of Pat, he’s pretty inspiring too.) At the end of the month, we’ll pick one lucky winner and award them with a prize meal for two of two entrees, two drinks, one tea egg, and one dessert!
So lace up those running shoes and run on over to Dewey, BU, or Copley. The solution to your resolution has never been more clear: Bon Me = Bon You.

We brew our own Thai tea, simmering a blend of spices and then steeping two kinds of tea in the spiced water.

The orange- brown color of our Thai tea comes from the spices and tea leaves – not the bright orange color that comes straight from food coloring.
You can actually see the little bits of spice and tea leaves at the bottom of a glass of our Thai iced tea.

For a very short time, Bon Me will have head cheese on the truck! Say what?! Head cheese, you know, meat gelatin terrine made from the head of a calf or pig’s head? That’s right, we made meat gelatin in the Bon Me kitchen, courtesy of Kristen, who raised the pig and has been an employee with us since day one. This was our first attempt at headcheese: We butchered and cleaned a pig’s head, simmered it for a long time with spices and a few aromatics. Then we pulled everything off the bone and placed it into a third pan with a little of the broth that the pig’s head simmered in. Into the fridge it went, and now we have a loaf of headcheese in all it’s gelatinous, piggy glory.
Before, after, and in between pictures. (Warning: some of these pictures may be a bit “graphic” for some of you out there, so here’s your chance to not look.)
