Bon Me Appetit #4: K-Town Chicken 🍗
Cookin' Up Some K-Town
In this installment of Bon Me Appetit, we're getting into the good stuff, K-Town Chicken! K-Town is a staff favorite here, and it's known to fly off the trucks whenever we have it.
Our K-Town Chicken is a semi-spicy Korean-style BBQ chicken that you'll want again and again. Make it for your friends and family and you'll look like you really know your way around the Korean flavor palate. Keep reading to find out how to make this mouth-watering dish l at home.
What you'll need:
5 lbs Chicken Breasts or Thighs
For the Marinade:
1/2 cup diced onions
1 oz minced garlic
1/8 cup salt
1/8 cup soy sauce
1/8 cup sugar
Pinch of black pepper to taste
3 oz. gochujang paste
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1 Mix all marinade ingredients together and add chicken and mix well. Cover chicken and place in the fridge.
2 Let chicken sit in the marinade overnight.
3 Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
4 Place chicken in a single layer on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Cook for 30 minutes, or until chicken is nicely brown and reaches 165 degrees as measured with a thermometer.
5 When cool enough to handle, slice chicken.
You can eat your K-Town Chicken on rice bowl or a noodle salad like we do, but if you really want to experiment (and cut some calories) try making some Korean Style Lettuce Wraps like these!
