Our thai basil limeade has a somewhat cult following at this point, so we'd be crazy to share the recipe with the public right? Not at all! It's summertime at long last, and it's in everyones interest to have some of this refreshing drink on hand at all times. With only 3 ingredients, it's simple, pure, fresh, and easy to make. What you'll need:
4 cups of water
2 oz chopped Thai basil, including the stem
1 1/4 cup of sugar, or more to taste
1 cup of lime juice
2 cups of ice
1 Place water in a medium-sized pot. Bring water to a boil and turn off heat.
2 Add the Thai basil and muddle for a minute or two using a wooden spoon.
3 Add the sugar and lime juice and stir until lime juice is fully dissolved.
4 Strain the liquid into a pitcher to remove the Thai basil.
5 Add 2 cups of ice (or cold water) and stir until ice is melted (or cold water is fully incorporated). Taste mixture and add more sugar to taste. Make sure to mix the liquid until sugar is fully dissolved.
6 Serve Thai basil limeade over ice and enjoy!
