Here at Bon Me, we’re committed to giving back to the beautiful environment that allows us to serve up bold, fresh and fun food at all of our six food trucks and five restaurants across the city! But do you know how committed we truly are?
When our Roxbury commissary opened its doors in August of 2014, we set our standards high and designed the entirety of our operations around reducing food waste. And, it paid off! In 2014, we won the Greenovate Award for Sustainable Food Systems by the city of Boston! Since then, we have reached many of our goals. In 2015, we diverted 132 cubic yard of food and compostable materials; enough to fill the beds of 66 pick up trucks, or 1,188 wheelbarrows!
But it doesn’t stop there! We continue to reduce our overall carbon footprint, and convert as much of our packaging into compostable materials as possible. We think that’s something to be proud of and you can definitely help us do the right thing!
You can now see that green SIGN on our Purple truck, at Harvard.
It will help you figuring what to put in our COMPOSTABLE green barrel - which is almost EVERYTHING but hot cups and bottles of water!
All of this is just the beginning for our relationship with sustainability! WE COUNT ON YOU!
