Thirsty? Try our bubble tea! First popular in Taiwan, bubble tea (or boba tea) has been gaining popularity over the past few years. The sweet and creamy milk tea has a deep and distinctive black tea flavor. It pairs well with any dish that you’ve ordered with jalapenos. It’s also great for sipping while enjoying a nice spring walk. The tapioca pearls at the bottom of every cup add a great pop of texture and can even be added to other drinks on our menu! The chewy, sweet bubbles pair really nicely with our thai iced tea.
The chewy boba pearls are made of tapioca starch, which comes from the root of the cassava plant. Tapioca is super versatile. It can be used to make flatbreads and puddings, to thicken sauces, and as a chewy textural element in a ton of Asian desserts (or even in bubble tea!)
Making bubble tea, or milk tea, is easy! Simply brew your black tea as strong as you’d like and add milk and cream to taste. You can find boba tea pearls in your local Asian grocery store. Prepare your pearls according to the package instructions. Typically, you’d only need to rehydrate the pearls in hot water and drain before serving, but each brand can be slightly different.
